Navigating uncertainty: reintegration experiences of Bangladeshi women migrants returning from gulf countries during COVID-19

Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, female migrant domestic workers returning from Gulf countries faced severe socio-economic uncertainties and precarity. This paper explores the reintegration experiences and challenges of Bangladeshi women migrants who returned during the pandemic, highlighting issues such as wage theft, debt, social stigma, and the lack of institutional support mechanisms.
