Forced returnee Bangladeshi female migrant domestic workers and their social reintegration experiences

Abstract

Bangladeshi female migrant domestic workers are often forcefully repatriated from the Middle East before concluding their working contracts due to severe workplace difficulties. This article explores the stressful experiences and social reintegration challenges faced by forced returnees in Bangladesh, examining altered social perceptions, psychological shifts, strain on intimate partnerships, and economic hardships.
