Forced Return of Female Migrant Workers from the Gulf Countries to Their Countries of Origin: Contemporary Trends, Causes, and Consequences

Abstract
Female migration for domestic work to Persian Gulf countries is a prominent global trend. However, workplace abuse, physical assault, and non-payment of wages often force women to return home prematurely. This chapter analyzes contemporary trends, root causes of forced return, and its social, economic, and psychological consequences on returnee women and their home communities.
