The impact of floods on the livelihood of rural women farmers and their adaptation strategies: insights from Bangladesh

Floods pose severe challenges to the livelihoods of rural women in Bangladesh who depend heavily on subsistence agriculture, poultry, livestock, and natural resources. This study examines the specific impacts of seasonal flood events on women farmers and documents their indigenous coping strategies. Using empirical field evidence, the article highlights how structural gender disparities exacerbate climate vulnerability while emphasizing the resilience and adaptive practices developed by women in flood-prone agrarian settings.
