Mishkat Hossain

Mishkat Hossain is a dedicated development professional, research assistant, and digital media specialist with over six years of multifaceted experience spanning project management, qualitative and quantitative research, data analysis, and creative content production. He completed his foundational education in Business Studies at Boilchhari Nozmunnesa High School and Govt. Hazi Mohammad Mohsin College before earning his Bachelor of Social Science (BSS) in Political Science from the University of Chittagong with a CGPA of 3.42 out of 4.00. His academic background encompasses coursework in economics, statistics, research methodology, public administration, law, and international relations. Expanding his global perspective and academic depth, he is advancing his higher education with a Master of Arts in Data and Discourse Studies at TU Darmstadt.

In the development and NGO sectors, Mishkat currently serves as a Project Officer at Young Power in Social Action (YPSA), having previously held roles there as a MEAL Officer and Associate Field Officer. In these positions, he designs and executes training programs, manages awareness campaigns targeting gender-based violence (GBV) and safeguarding issues in educational settings, handles quantitative and qualitative data collection, and collaborates closely with high-level government officials. Alongside his organizational work, he gained two years of academic research experience under Dr. Shafiqul Islam, Professor of Political Science at the University of Chittagong, contributing to research on Bay of Bengal security dynamics and a study titled "The Building of Matarbari Deepsea Port In Bangladesh: geo economic and geo strategic implications". His field expertise is complemented by roles as a remote Digital Content Assistant for 101 Distributors (USA), Program Assistant for Banshkhali Times, and an intern at Jonali's Alo.

Mishkat possesses technical proficiency across data analysis tools, office applications, and media software, including SPSS, Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and After Effects. He holds a National Skill Standard Basic Certificate in Computer Office Application (A+) from the Bangladesh Technical Education Board, an Office Management certificate from the Department of Youth Development, and several professional certificates from DisasterReady.org covering proposal writing, project management, and fundraising planning. Additionally, he has completed multiple Training of Trainers (TOT) programs organized by BRAC on implementation guidelines and gender capacity building.

Beyond his professional and academic pursuits, Mishkat has demonstrated consistent leadership and civic engagement. He served as General Secretary of the Banshkhali Student Association at Chittagong University and was an active member of the Chittagong University Debating Society (CUDS), where he helped organize major public speaking workshops and inter-university debate competitions. He has also served as a Campus Ambassador for platforms including the CKH Network, English Olympiad, and International Youth Olympiad 2021, and remains an active member of the Rotaract Club of Islamabad Bangladesh. Mishkat is fluent in English, Bangla, and Chittagonian (Rohingya), and has a basic knowledge of German.
